BASIC PRINCIPLES FOR THE TRANSPORT OF A PIANO
Transport the tool in dry, warm weather.
Avoid vibration at any stage of transport.
Avoid ingress of dust, dirt, moisture, foreign objects.
Protect flooring from scratches.
Loading and unloading of the piano is carried out manually, using wide belts. They are tied into loops and connected under the tool. Use rubberized gloves to prevent slipping. With large dimensions of the tool, it is sometimes necessary to rearrange the furniture, remove the door leaf.
To save the tool, you need to attract a sufficient amount of labor. Smaller constructions will be carried by movers together. Larger models require 4 people. Attract 6 people if there is a spiral staircase or a steep descent. On the stairs, the piano is carried with a deck to the railing, lifted to a height of 15-20 cm.
To reduce the risk of human error, the piano is carried slowly and smoothly. It is important to take breaks often, to change the grip. The stability of each participant in the transportation and the availability of free space around for maneuver are important. Methodism and lack of haste will help to save the tool.
To reduce the temperature drop in the room where the piano will be brought, you should first open the windows. Adjustment can be made one week after shipment. The tool must remain closed, adapt to the new microclimate. If a little moisture has formed, let it dry on its own.
Careful handling of the piano during transportation is the key to the safety of the musical instrument.
